  1. Heat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and fine salt.
  5. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix just until no dry flour remains (don’t overmix).
  6. Fold in chocolate chips evenly.
  7. Scoop dough into 2-tablespoon mounds (about 30–35 g each) and place 2–3 inches apart on prepared sheets.
  8. Bake 10–12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden and centers look slightly underbaked.
  9. Optional: sprinkle lightly with flaky sea salt immediately after baking.
  10. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
