• Recipe data — titles, ingredients, steps, photos, and source attribution
• User profile — household size, cooking preferences, dietary restrictions, favorite cuisines, and goals
• Usage metrics — extraction counts, recipe creation counts, and daily usage limits
• Subscription and payment information — managed securely by Stripe

How We Use Your Data

• Personalize recipe recommendations and serving sizes
• Extract and organize recipes from images, URLs, and text using AI
• Calculate nutritional information
• Generate shopping lists
• Process payments and manage subscriptions

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate RecipeBook:

• OpenAI (GPT-4o) — powers recipe extraction and AI features. Recipe text is sent to OpenAI for processing.
• Stripe — handles payment processing. We do not store credit card numbers.
• Firebase / Google Cloud — provides secure database hosting and cloud functions.
• Auth0 — manages authentication and identity verification.

Your Controls

• Use the deleteMyData tool to permanently delete all your data
• Export your recipes anytime using the export tools
• Access your data through ChatGPT at any time

Data Security

• All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest
• Access is authenticated via OAuth 2.1 JWT tokens
• We never share your personal data with third parties for marketing

Data Retention

Your data is retained until you choose to delete it or your account is removed.
